TITLE: Senior Environmental/Air Emissions Specialist
REPORTS TO: OPERATIONS Manager

Location: Denver, CO

OVERVIEW: 

The Senior Environmental/Air Emissions Specialist at KODA Resources will play a key role in ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local air quality regulations and managing environmental impacts related to air emissions. This position requires a seasoned professional with deep expertise in air emissions monitoring, reporting, and control technologies. The ideal candidate will be a proactive problem solver who can manage multiple projects and maintain KODA’s commitment to environmental compliance.

JOB DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Monitor and ensure compliance with applicable federal, state, and local environmental regulations, specifically related to air quality (e.g., Clean Air Act, NSPS, NESHAP, Title V Permitting).
• Lead the preparation and submission of necessary permits, compliance reports, and emissions inventories (GHG, criteria pollutants, etc.).
• Liaise with regulatory agencies on environmental issues and manage inspections, audits, and enforcement actions.
• Develop and implement air emissions monitoring plans and conduct regular reviews of emissions data to ensure accuracy and regulatory compliance.
• Utilize emissions estimation tools (e.g., AP-42 factors, GHG protocols) to calculate facility emissions, including greenhouse gases and hazardous air pollutants.
• Prepare emission reports.
• Support the development and improvement of KODA’s environmental management systems, specifically focusing on air quality.
• Provide leadership on environmental incident investigations related to air emissions and recommend corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
• Assist in the development and implementation of sustainability and emissions reductions initiatives.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate environmental requirements into project planning and execution.
• Travel to field offices (20-30% of time) to provide on-site support, ensure compliance, and conduct field audits.
• Lead and support environmental project related to air emissions, including data collection, analysis, and implementation of air control technologies.

knowledge and skills:

• Strong understanding of air emissions monitories, GHG reporting, and environmental permitting processes.
• Ability to interpret complex environmental regulations and provide actionable guidance.
• Excellent project management skills with the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency with environmental software and databases (e.g., air emissions inventory software, environmental management systems).
• Willingness to travel 20-30% to field offices for compliance checks and field audits.

education and/or experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, Chemistry, or related field. Advanced degree is plus.
• 7+ years of experience in environmental compliance, air quality management, or emissions control in the energy, oil and gas, or manufacturing industries.
• In-depth knowledge of air emissions regulations, emissions control technologies, and emissions estimation/calculation methods.

COMPENSATION RANGE/RATE:

• $153,000 – $195,000 ANNUALLY
• ACTUAL COMPENSATION OFFERED TO SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE WILL BE FINALIZED WITH OFFER AND MAY BE ABOVE OR BELOW THE POSTED RANGE DUE TO SKILL LEVEL, EXPERIENCE, INDUSTRY SPECIFIC KNOWLEDGE, EDUCATION/CERTIFICATIONS OR GEOGRAPHIC LOCATION
• OTHER COMPENSATION FOR THIS POSITION WILL INCLUDE BONUS ELIGIBILITY
